usb-whiteMy Networks

I have tried a number of online networks, which are social, professional,  share documents, thoughts, useless and useful things. I will sum up the list of the networks and you can connect with me or try it out.

BTW. I use almost every single Google service.

SOCIAL

Hyves

Most popular online social network in the Netherlands

Facebook

Social network service, more open and with a more international character

LinkedIn

Social network with a focus on professionals

Twitter

Microblogging network… fun and can be interesting. Annoying as well.. with the wrong people. Also Dutch account.

Digsby

Open source IM (Instant Messaging) client. Really useful, because it aggregates all my Facebook, GTalk, MSN, and Twitter contacts. Time-saver.

MEDIA

Diigo

Fantastic way to keep track of and share your bookmarks, highlight any text on any web page, add comments, and more. Better than delicious

YouTube

Online video sharing site, probably not the best, but most certainly the largest

SlideShare

Interesting site for sharing presentations

Scribd

Interesting site for sharing documents

LibraryThing

Great service for keeping track of your books, getting recommendations, and share your thoughts

Last.fm

Great personalized music service: recommended!

PicasaWeb

Online storage (1 GB) and sharing of photos.

Clipmarks

Great tool to take snippets (chunks of text of images) out of websites and share/blog them.

OER Commons

One of the better sites for sharing, rating, and contributing open educational resources

IM-VoIP

MSN, Skype, GTalk

thiemehennis@hotmail.com, thiemehennis, thiemehennis

Tools

There are many very interesting tools online, some of which I have tried. These tools enable you to make great presentations for free, create floor plans, wikis, social networks, widgets, online surveys, edit photos or videos, make networks, mind maps, etc. Almost anything can be done for free, and without too much trouble. Believe me, you can do so much more, just hit this link and try it out!

Open educational resources

I would recommend you to have a look at the enormous amount of useful educational resources online. In almost any subject you will find a course, video, or other resource to help you get up-to-date, or tell you something interesting. If you hit this link, you will see a list of websites with more and less accessible resources.
